Bangkok Bound - Dec 1st 2003.
Well the time has come to start write these travel emails again, feels really wierd having been home
for 7 months and kinda settled it to a routine, ie doing the boring 9-5 thing, and getting pissed at every available opportunity.
It hasn't really hit me that im going yet, even though im heading off in a few hours. Had a few problems
over the last few weeks, wasnt sure whether or not i would be going, but i am. Not really planned
anything, and have no idea where im actaully going, all this is a good thing, as no doubt ill end up in some great places,
doing the bizzarest of things, and making plans is well boring, and i wouldn't stick to them anyway.
Yeah so finished work on the 21st, was kinda sad, i mean will def miss the people, although not the job.
Got completely trashed after work that day. Week off work was really boring, got a bit depressed to be honest -where is my
life going blah blah. Just spend the week, catching up with people, getting pissed hehe. Went out Sat night at 6.30pm, retuned
home at 8.30pm on sunday - case of far too much alcohol, dont really remember much of sat nite, only remember sitting in the
pub on sunday avo.
Ok the plan is, kinda unknown to me. But goes something like - arrive in Bangkok tomorrow, then fly
out of Singapore on sunday to Sydney. How exaclty i will get to Singapore is unknown to me, lol. Once i get to sydney
who knows what will happen, if i get work, dont expect to see me again, if not, then ill travel for a bit.
ok well, i still have to pack - yes really (what to take?), and i leave for the airport in 50 minutes AHHHHH!
Going to try and swindle a business class seat, will work my ususal magic and smile.
will be in touch soon
Here, Safe n' Sound! - Dec 3rd 2003.
Well after 14 hours sitting in Cattle class im here, was gutted - didn't get a business classs
seat, the movies were shit, and to top it all, i got an isile seat - ie getting up every 5 mins so people can piss.
Anyway touch down in Bankgok just after 4 pm yesterday, was really excited, got through immigration
no probs, grabbed my bag, headed out of the airport to the glourious 32c heat. Dont know why i was so worried abot coming,
soon as i was out the airport remembered just how much i love this place. Got the bus and headed to Ko San Road, met quite
a few other travellers on the bus. As they headed off to their accomodation on Ko San, i took a right turn and headed
to my swanky hotel, with huge bath, fluffy pillows, big bed and swimming pool. Shame to say i have to check out of their tomorrow,
and head to some flea infeasted guest house on Ko San Road :(
Went out last night, for few beers on Ko San, deciding what my next move will be. Place is
just exaclty the same since i was here last time, loads of touts - "u want a tuk-tuk", "where you go" just wave them off like
peasants, aslo loads of lady boys, had a few offers, naturally i accepted, joke!
Anyway today has been lazy so far, had the biggest breakfast all for only 100 baht - 1.50pounds.
Went for a swim. Now jsut going to broswe the markets and work on my tan. Then go and get the crapped kicked out of me - yeah
im goign for a Thai Massage, missed these sooooo much.

HA HA
Guess where i am SYDNEY!!!!!!!!!!! Fav place in thw whole world. More about that soon....
Anyway last time I wrote to you i had just arrived in Bangkok. Spend most of last week
in Bangkok, had to check out of my hotel, was bit pricy, checked in to The Marco Polo, guest house on Ko San Road, only 250
baht for a single with shower, fairly basic, did have a rather nice tartan cover on the bed, which is now in the bottom of
my backpack! Spend most of my time getting drunk on teh cheap, went to the bar Gullivers - thats the place I 'celebrated'
my 21st birthday, was pretty good laugh, also this new place in the cith called 'the room', prety swanky, sat around on minimilist
furniture, downing shots of Johnnie.
Took a trip to the ancient city of Ayuatha ( pronounced aye-a-tie-a) was pretty interteting seeing
the temples and ruins. Also went on a trip to the floating markets, pretty good, go around on a boat, people selling stuff
are on boats come up to yours. Had a few Thai massages - know it sounds a bit gay, lol, but i had a thai massage, about
6 bizzare facial treatments a manicure and peticure for 600 baht - about 7 quid.
Anyway left Thailand to head to Singapore, flew Thai Airways, was about 40 quid, was costing 200
if i booked from the UK. Anyway the actually gave us real cutlery and glasses - exuse me while me abnd my 10 mates, hijack
the place. Went via Phucket, so got a great vew of southern thaialnd, and all the islands.
Arrived in Singapore on sat night, dumped my bags, went for few beers, with some guys from the
hostel. Had a Singapore Sling in Raffles - had to be done. Then got pissed, down at Boat Quay. Woke on sunday morning, at
11, had to check out by 12, this gave me 4 hours shopping time, was a man on a mission, lol. Also walked around out
Littel India, and the Hindu Temple. Got to the airport about an hour before the flight left - was delayed in the shops, lol.
Ariived in Syndney this morning, got a great view of Bondi, right up the harbour and the opera
house, bridge and the city when flying in, was spectacular. Can't believe im back here, lol, jsut walked down george street
earlier, looking at all the familair places, don't want to leave only time will tell! Staying in the city, got an absolutley
stunning view of the Harbour bridge from my window and across Hyde Park.
more news soon
